How these stories are made
Chuyện means “story” in Vietnamese. Chuyện AI began as a free storytelling site for Vietnamese families. This English edition shares 1605 of those stories with travelers.
Every story starts in Vietnamese
Each English story is a translation of one Vietnamese story on Chuyện AI. The Vietnamese stories are written with AI assistance from published sources, such as newspapers, museum and heritage sites, and collections of folktales, and checked against those sources. Each story page lists its sources.
The translation is AI-assisted and checked
An AI model drafts the English text under a written set of rules. The English may state only the facts that are in the Vietnamese story. Legends stay framed as legends. The only additions allowed are short explanations, such as who the Nguyễn emperors were, taken from a reviewed glossary that cites its own sources. We add no prices, opening hours or ticket details, because those go out of date.
Before a story appears here, it goes through these checks:
- Automated checks that every number, date and proper name matches the Vietnamese original.
- A review for fidelity: each claim traced back to the Vietnamese text.
- Reviews for plain, natural English, for respectful cultural framing, and for how it sounds aloud.
These reviews are AI-assisted too. They catch a lot, and when they found errors in a Vietnamese original, we fixed the Vietnamese story first. They are not a guarantee. If you spot a mistake, the sources on each page are the place to check.
The narrator is a synthetic voice
The audio is read by a synthetic English voice from Azure AI Speech, not by a person. Vietnamese names are voiced in Vietnamese, so you hear them close to how people say them in Vietnam.
