Thinh Long Beach

People come to Thịnh Long to breathe, not to take photographs.

The Ninh Binh Department of Tourism describes a stretch of sea that has kept its wild, natural look. It describes fine sand running more than seven kilometers, a mild climate, and a shore tied to the traditional sea culture of the people who live here.

Today the beach belongs to Hải Thịnh commune in Ninh Binh province. The commune is new. It brought together Hải Ninh commune and Hải Châu commune. The former town of Thịnh Long joined them. Anyone who knew the place before 2025 will find that the name has changed. The beach is still there.

Hải Thịnh has seven kilometers of coastline and 18 kilometers along the Ninh Cơ River. That corridor gives the area the look of a river mouth opening onto the sea: a gently sloping beach, wide open space, and the daily rhythm of the people who live along the shore.

On December 13, 2024, the Thịnh Long tourist area was officially recognized as a provincial-level tourist area. It was a milestone, but it did not change what makes the place worth remembering.

Its pull does not lie in comfort. It lies in a wild shore that runs on for seven kilometers, something that grows rarer every year. Sea air, the sound of waves, fine sand, and open space reaching to the horizon. These are gifts that need no complicated infrastructure.

There is no noisy amusement park and no crowd of stalls. There is only salt wind, sunshine, and a gently sloping strip of sand that runs on toward the mouth of the Ninh Cơ, where fresh water meets the open sea.

Nearby stand Linh Ứng Pagoda and the parish church of Thịnh Long. They add a touch of the faith and culture of the river-mouth people to a day by the sea.

In the morning at Thịnh Long, the sun rises from the sea and turns the strip of sand pink, still wet with dew. In the afternoon, the fishermen's small boats come quietly home. They leave footprints on the sand and a stillness all their own.

Thịnh Long does not try to overwhelm anyone. It simply stays there, plain, honest and open, waiting for people to sit down, listen to the waves, and let the sea do the rest.
